Aragón will have 394 places for Specialized Health Training (FSE) in the 2027 call. This is an increase of 19 compared to the previous process, which offered 375 places, representing about a 5% increase.
The new call expands training opportunities for future specialists in the region within a process that is also growing nationwide. The Ministry of Health has approved a national offer of 12,850 places, 484 more than in the last call.
The exam will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2027, and Zaragoza will be the only city in Aragón where the tests will be conducted.
Family Medicine, the specialty with the most places
The largest offer in Aragón corresponds to Family and Community Medicine, which will have 84 places.
This is followed by Family and Community Nursing, with 44. Pediatrics and its Specific Areas also have a significant presence, with 17 places; Mental Health Nursing, with 16; Psychiatry, with 13; Internal Medicine, with 12; and Clinical Psychology, with 11.
The distribution particularly reflects the importance of training professionals destined for Primary Care within healthcare planning.
Nationwide, Medicine continues to account for the majority of the call, with 9,676 places, followed by Nursing with 2,341. Additionally, 377 places will be offered for Pharmacy, 293 for Psychology, 69 for Biology, 57 for Physics, and 37 for Chemistry.
The national medical offer has increased by 400 places compared to the previous process. Nursing has also seen an increase, with 62 additional positions; Pharmacy, with 15; Psychology, with 13; and Chemistry, with eight. Physics maintains its offer, while Biology has lost 14 places.
Zaragoza concentrates eight out of ten places in Aragón
The territorial distribution of places shows a significant concentration in the province of Zaragoza.
Of the 394 available in Aragón, 316 correspond to teaching centers and units in Zaragoza and Calatayud. This means that approximately eight out of ten places in the region are located there.
Among the centers that will host future residents are the Miguel Servet University Hospital, the Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital, the Royo Villanova Hospital, and the Nuestra Señora de Gracia Hospital.
Huesca will have 45 places, distributed between the San Jorge University Hospital and various teaching units in Family and Community Care, Mental Health, Geriatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Teruel will have another 33 places. Training will take place at both the Obispo Polanco General Hospital and teaching units in Teruel and Alcañiz.
Applications in September and exam in January
The process will begin before the end of summer.
Graduates wishing to participate in the tests must submit their applications between September 1 and September 14, 2026, inclusive.
The exam will take place four months later. It will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2027, simultaneously in 26 Spanish cities, including Zaragoza, the only location planned in Aragón.
Candidates will have four and a half hours to complete a questionnaire of 200 questions, plus another ten reserve questions, all with four possible answers.
Each correct answer will score three points, while incorrect answers will deduct one point. Unanswered questions will not be scored.
The new call will allow for the incorporation of more professionals into the Aragón healthcare training system. However, the next challenge will come afterward: ensuring that these positions are filled and that the specialists trained in hospitals, health centers, and teaching units across the three provinces find compelling reasons to develop their professional careers in Aragón.
