Alliance +STEAM Aragón Partners with Three Entities to Foster Scientific Vocations

+STEAM Aragón Alliance Incorporates Three New Organizations to Strengthen Scientific and Technological Vocations

The +STEAM Aragón Alliance continues its expansion with the incorporation of three new collaborating entities: the San Ezequiel Moreno Foundation, the Aragón Biotechnology Association (ASBAR), and Women in AI (WAI Zaragoza). With this addition, the alliance now includes over 60 companies, entities, and institutions committed to strengthening STEAM vocations in the autonomous community.

The +STEAM Aragón Alliance aims to promote public-private collaboration to make Aragón the autonomous community with the highest number of STEAM vocations, consolidating the necessary talent to position itself as a creator of scientific and technological knowledge that drives regional growth. The initiative is promoted by CEOE Aragón and Directivas de Aragón, with the strategic support of the Government of Aragón.

The three newly incorporated organizations will develop joint activities aligned with the alliance’s objectives, which include:

  • Dissemination and professional guidance in biotechnology
  • Talks, workshops, and visits focused on career opportunities in technology, innovation, and biomedical engineering, aimed at students from secondary education, baccalaureate, and vocational training
  • Training activities on Artificial Intelligence for youth and businesses
  • Initiatives to empower women in STEAM professions, especially in vulnerable groups

The alliance presented its second report in 2025, detailing achievements since its launch in 2022. Among the progress made are the establishment of a solid public-private structure, the increase in the initial educational offer in STEAM, and the mobilization of resources for the scientific and technological ecosystem.

However, the report also identifies pending gaps: low penetration in educational institutions, limited student participation, and disparities related to gender, territory, and socioeconomic level. Despite these limitations, the recent public policies announced by the Government of Aragón, such as the educational innovation program Código Escuela 4.0, aimed at all publicly funded educational centers, are welcomed.

In response to the growing demand for STEAM profiles with a 100% employability rate in technological professions, measures have been implemented to increase the educational offer in vocational training and universities, including support for Dual Vocational Training and the integration of digital competencies at all levels. This is complemented by announcements of multi-million investments in digitalization, artificial intelligence, renewable energies, hydrogen, defense, and advanced logistics.

Leaders of the new entities have expressed their commitment to the alliance. CEOE Aragón and Directivas de Aragón emphasize that «the path ahead is exciting» and highlight the need to «continue nurturing vocations, train and attract talent, and ensure that no one is left out of this transformation.»

ASBAR highlights its mission to bring biotechnology closer to citizens and support professionals in their development. WAI Zaragoza is committed to fostering synergies to bring Artificial Intelligence to its spheres of influence. For its part, the San Ezequiel Moreno Foundation considers this membership vital for its social mission, viewing it as «a powerful tool for inclusion and equity» aimed at vulnerable groups, with particular emphasis on reducing the gender and digital divide.
