Summer in Aragon is synonymous with culture, art, and a great atmosphere. The festivals, typical of the summer season, are a clear example of the great diversity and cultural richness that exists in our region.
For decades, Huesca has been one of the provinces most committed to these festivals, and today it offers a very diverse route from the south to the north of the region. That’s why today we bring you the 10 festivals you shouldn’t miss this summer in the Huesca region.
Folklore, techno music, the Camino de Santiago, and international dances are some of the themes of the festivals that can be found in the area during the summer.
Polifonik Sound (June 26-28)
This is one of the festivals that marks the start of summer in Barbastro. 2025 will bring the 17th edition of one of the most established shows on the Spanish scene.
With a clear nod to indie music and independent artists, after 16 editions it retains its essence: innovative music, local cuisine, and an unbeatable location. Two years ago, on its 15th anniversary, it brought together more than 10,000 attendees, a record number that the organizers hope to exceed.
This year it will take place between June 26 and 28, one of the first summer events in the entire province of Huesca. With just over two weeks to go, more than 3,000 tickets have already been sold, and the lineup includes names such as Rozalén, Sopelana, and Dorian. There is also something for younger visitors, with Polifonik Kids, where they can enjoy activities, workshops, and two local bands.
Castillo de Aínsa Festival (June 29 to July 13)
Castillo de Aínsa Festival 2025
This festival was created in 1990 with the main objective of preserving and promoting love for the land. Since its inception, it has been committed to folk and roots music, which has given it a distinctive character and undeniable appeal.
The setting of the medieval town of Aínsa, where all the performances take place, is pure history and tradition. Its streets, monuments, squares, and cobblestone pavements make this festival much more than just melodies. The sites of Aínsa take the audience back several centuries. This is its 35th edition, and from June 29 to July 13, you can enjoy renowned national groups such as Huecco, Mallazo, and Rita Payés. The weekends will be the busiest days.

In addition, for the past two years, there has also been a Traditional Music Encounter. The aim of this event is to raise awareness of all those involved in traditional music: students from municipal schools, social, cultural or musical groups, and/or any individual who plays a traditional instrument or dances with a dance group. There will be two days of events linked to this encounter: Saturday, June 29, and Saturday, July 5.
SoNna Huesca (July 5 to September 13)
The Sounds in Nature Festival, better known as SoNna Huesca, emerged as an alternative event during the pandemic. Its small-scale venues in natural settings made it a promising festival for the future.
After five editions, it has already hosted more than 150 concerts, and in its sixth edition it will once again tour the ten regions of Upper Aragon. A total of 27 concerts and/or circus and theater shows will tour the province of Huesca on weekends between July 5 and September 13.
One of its main features is that it showcases little-known places in our region. This year, you will discover venues such as the Abi beech forest (Aísa), the Dolores de Monflorite chapel, the village of Puy de Cinca (Secastilla), the Paseo del Sifón de Albelda, and the San José de Fonz chapel.
You can enjoy performances by artists from Venezuela, Poland, Argentina, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom, to name just a few of the international participants. But there will also be artists from Aragon, Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia, Galicia, the Basque Country, Cantabria, Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura, and the Balearic Islands.
Pyrenean Music and Culture Festival (July 5 and 6)
The Pyrenean Music and Culture Festival, commonly known as PIR, is one of the symbols of the northern part of Huesca. It is a rotating event that has been held since 1997. It has a very clear purpose: to show the points of union of the Pyrenean culture on both sides of the Pyrenees mountain range.
Its program, eagerly awaited and well known by local residents, includes music, children’s activities, exhibitions, and books, all closely linked to the heritage and culture of northern Aragon.
This year’s edition will take place on July 5 and 6 in Jasa. With an innovative approach that blends tradition and modernity, it is a clear example of the richness and diversity of the culture and music of the Jacetania region. This year, the Alto Aragón Folklore Group from Jaca will be the star attraction, celebrating its 50th anniversary and receiving the Truco Award, performing at three highlights of the festival.
Pirineos Sur Festival (July 10-27)
Thirty years ago, the Provincial Council of Huesca launched the Pirineos Sur Festival, a meeting point for continents, cultures, and sounds, which in its early years became a national benchmark. It was one of the first festivals in Spain dedicated to international music.
Each year it is organized around a specific theme. It is also known for its main stage: a spectacular natural auditorium located on a floating platform on the Lanuza reservoir. Here, thousands of attendees can enjoy unique landscapes and views around imposing mountains that gradually block out the sun.

This year’s festival will take place between July 10 and 27, with a lineup that has just been announced and includes big names such as Amaia, Ara Malikian, Juanjo Bona, Viva Suecia, Nathy Peluso, and Puro Relajo. Some of these events are already sold out. Last year’s edition attracted more than 33,000 attendees in just over 20 days.
Monegros Desert Festival (July 26 and 27)
32 years after its inception, this festival in the municipality of Fraga has become a benchmark for techno and hard techno music nationwide. It is an ideal summer plan where music, art, and architecture merge into a radical experience.
In 2022, the king of techno festivals in Spain returned to the land where it was born, achieving record numbers. Since then, it has made headlines year after year for the records it has broken. Last year, 50,000 attendees vibrated to almost 24 hours of non-stop music.
This year, July 26 brings new surprises: 11 stages, more than 150 international DJs, gigantic sets, immersive scenery, a diversity of musical genres, and much more information to be announced soon. Most tickets are already sold out.
The organizers will charter buses from various Spanish cities, as well as Portugal and France, so that all fans of this musical genre can dance from 2:00 p.m. on Saturday until 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 27.
Somontano Wine Festival (July 30 to August 2)
This is the great festival of Somontano wine and one of the most important wine tourism, food and wine, and wine culture festivals in our country. Organized by the Regulatory Council of the Somontano Designation of Origin, in its 16 years of existence, it has made Barbastro the cradle of wine during the first weekend of August.
Between July 30 and August 2, the town of Barbastro will welcome hundreds of wine lovers. This year, the festival is divided into daytime and evening activities for all audiences. The Daytime Festival has a full program that will allow you to experience wine tourism with visits to wineries, tasting courses, wine-making workshops, and other original initiatives in which wine is paired with other products such as cheese and chocolate.

The night brings the other part of the festival. You can enjoy different performances: theater, live music, stand-up comedy, and magic. All of them will take place at the Barbastro Congress Center starting at 11 p.m. After the performances, there will be a food tasting with tapas and, of course, a glass of wine.
As a new feature, on Friday and Saturday, the II Encuentro de Bloggers #FestivalVinoSomontano (2nd Meeting of Bloggers #FestivalVinoSomontano) will take place, with the participation of the creators of the most important gastronomic blogs in Spain.
Pyrenean Folk Festival (July 30 to August 3)
Since 1963, Jaca has hosted the Pyrenean Folk Festival, a biannual event that brings together more than 20 groups from five continents. In 1988, it was declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest. Until recently, the festival was held alternately with the French city of Oloron Sainte-Marie, but now only the Jaca Festival is held, which continues to take place in odd-numbered years.
It stands out for its street atmosphere and has gradually become a symbol of the city. Its 53rd edition will take place between July 30 and August 3, 2025. More than 20 groups from 16 different countries will attend, which means that more than 500 artists are expected to flood the streets with their traditional dances and melodies.
Hundreds of international folklore festival fans flock to Jaca, as well as large delegations from the participating countries. In previous editions, it is estimated that around 40,000 people have gathered in the town of Jaca.
The highlight of the festival is the last day, when a final parade is held in which all the groups showcase their best dances and melodies in the center of Jaca.
International Festival on the Way of St. James (July 31 to August 24)
This is an essential event in Spain’s cultural summer, once again turning Upper Aragon into a meeting place for history, music, and emotion.
In its 34th edition, from July 31 to August 24, thirteen towns in the province of Huesca will host concerts that connect art with the soul of the Camino, in heritage sites where each note resonates with a unique intensity.
In 2025, the festival takes on an even deeper meaning as it is dedicated to the 275th anniversary of the death of Johann Sebastian Bach. The program includes 19 top-level concerts, an exhibition, cinema, street theater, and activities related to the Camino de Santiago.
Ayerbe Arts Festival (August 1 and 2)
The Ayerbe Arts Festival, better known as the Festival Brizna, is built around the most contemporary music, plastic, visual and performing arts. After four editions, its intention to be in touch with the territory and contribute to its visibility remains intact.
Its program focuses on the vindication of the rural world. In this way, and taking advantage of its social impact, it is a unique opportunity to empower rural areas through culture, involving local actors and encouraging people to participate.
The fifth edition of the Brizna Festival in Ayerbe, which will be held on August 1 and 2, will feature performances by prominent groups such as Bestia Bebé (Argentina), La Dame Blanche (Cuba), and La Milagrosa. There will also be a selection of local and regional DJs, such as Luna Roja, Nen & Gabi, Hurtell, and Florida & Hermoso. It is worth noting that there will be complementary activities, such as craft fairs, food trucks, and a bumper car track.
The organizers point out that most tickets are already sold out, and they hope to break the record of 8,000 attendees set in 2023.
