Aragon reaffirms its leadership in the field of Vocational Training (VT) with the presentation of 45 innovation projects during the CEXWORKING26 meeting. This event, held at Mobility City, highlighted the role of the six Centers of Excellence in the region in the digital transformation of the education system.
Outstanding Positioning in the State Network
The Aragonese community is at the forefront of VT in Spain, with six accredited centers within the State Network of Centers of Excellence, which totals 75. This positioning places Aragon as the leading region in relation to its population and among the most notable in territorial presence, only surpassed by the Basque Country. Tomasa Hernández, acting Minister of Education, Culture, and Sports, emphasized the importance of this leadership.
The Aragonese centers have been key in executing 25 innovation projects and developing 20 applied research projects, collaborating with companies and other centers nationwide. In addition, they have promoted teacher training through 14 courses that have certified 358 teachers.
Investment in Technology and Digitalization
With the support of 8.8 million euros from the Next Generation funds, the Centers of Excellence in Aragon have made significant progress in modernizing their infrastructures. These funds have allowed for the acquisition of advanced technology, such as digital twins, driving simulators, and social robots, which are being integrated into classrooms to enhance teaching.
This investment not only modernizes facilities but also drives digital transformation, facilitating the use of 4.0 tools and virtual laboratories that enrich the educational experience of students.
Impact on Training and Employment
Vocational Training in Aragon has reached record numbers, with 28,347 students enrolled in the current academic year and the creation of 3,300 new places in the last two years. Employment rates are equally impressive, exceeding 86% and reaching 97.4% in intensive dual training programs. These indicators reflect the success of VT initiatives in the region and their ability to respond to labor market demands.
