Blasco highlights the Teruel Airport as a success of the FITE
The Counselor of Environment and Tourism, Manuel Blasco, visited the facilities of the Teruel Airport on December 3, 2025, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Arcadi España, and the Deputy Government Representative in Teruel, Enrique Gómez. During the visit, Blasco stated that this infrastructure is the best expression of the objectives of the Teruel Investment Fund (FITE).
The Teruel Airport has received 106 million euros from the FITE, financed 50% by the Government of Aragon and 50% by the Government of Spain. This investment is expected to increase to 114 million euros with planned future investments. According to Blasco, the investment has had a tremendously positive impact on Teruel, contributing to the fund’s fundamental goal: to facilitate investments that generate jobs and curb depopulation.
The infrastructure has generated to date 850 direct jobs and 1,700 indirect jobs. It is projected to increase direct jobs to 1,200 in the medium term.
Among the announced projects are: the Integrated Training and Air Mobility Center of the Ministry of Defense (42 million euros), the research laboratory of the ITA (10 million), the aircraft recycling center of AIR —Aviation International Recycling— (30 million), and the installation of International Aerospace Coatings (IAC), specializing in aircraft painting (20 million for the second hangar).
