Teruel is positioning itself on the international gastronomic map with its participation in the Madrid Fusión Gastronomic Congress, held from January 26 to 28 at IFEMA. Seven companies from Teruel represent the province at this event, thanks to a food promotion agreement between the Chamber of Teruel and the Provincial Council, solidifying their presence in the sector.
Highlighted Events at Madrid Fusión
One of the most anticipated moments is the Auction of the Black Truffle from Teruel, which will take place on Tuesday, January 27 at 5:00 PM on the Multipurpose Stage. Two truffle pieces weighing over 500 and 400 grams will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to those affected by the railway accident in Adamuz, Córdoba. In the previous edition, this event raised 16,000 euros for the victims of the DANA.
Additionally, during the auction, actress and presenter Itziar Miranda will be named ambassador of the truffle, with the mission of promoting this emblematic product of the region.
On Monday, January 26, Teruel will have a prominent role at the Madrid Fusión Gala, presenting two tapas as the invited region to 350 professionals. The creations include «Sturgeon, truffle, and caviar» and «Aragonese Cuajada,» which combine high-quality local ingredients.
International Presence and Projection
Teruel will have a space at the Government of Aragon’s stand, a Premium area of 150 m² that will host 21 companies. Madrid Fusión, now in its 24th edition, is a meeting point for international haute cuisine, bringing together 1,874 congress participants, 26,104 visitors from 63 countries, and 232 exhibiting companies in the previous edition.
Participation in Madrid Fusión is just the beginning of the agri-food promotion activities planned for 2026. On March 9, there will be a presentation and tasting of Teruel products in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2025, the agreement, with a budget of 115,000 euros, enabled the execution of nine promotional actions in cities such as Paris, Zurich, Dublin, and London.
