Although there was a monthly increase of 2% compared to September (955 more people), the annual trend maintains a trajectory of improvement in the Aragonese labor market. These data, published by the Public State Employment Service, reveal a favorable dynamic as the end of the fiscal year approaches.
Territorial Comparisons
At the national level, Spain registered a monthly increase of 0.91% in October, reaching 2,443,766 unemployed individuals (22,101 more than in September).
Aragonese environment: Unemployment rose in October in La Rioja (2.50% monthly), Navarra (2.04%), Catalonia (0.75%), the Basque Country (0.60%), and the Community of Valencia (0.25%). In year-on-year comparison, the Community of Valencia led the reduction (-6.43% year-on-year), followed by Navarra (-3.75%), La Rioja (-3.47%), Catalonia (-3.09%), and the Basque Country (-0.82%).
Disaggregated Analysis
By gender: Unemployment increased by 251 men (1.37% monthly) and 704 women (2.39% monthly) compared to September.
By sectors: Increase in services (773 people), agriculture (102), and industry (91); reduction in construction (-60 people).
By provinces: Increase in Huesca (164 people), Teruel (174), and Zaragoza (617).
Hiring and Affiliation
The contracts registered in October totaled 45,572 (4,769 fewer than in September, but 155 more than October 2024). Of these, 15,536 were permanent (34.09%) and 30,036 were temporary (65.91%).
The average affiliation to the Social Security in Aragón increased by 4,347 individuals compared to September (0.69% monthly), reaching 632,562 affiliates. Compared to October 2024, the increase was 13,342 individuals (2.15% year-on-year).
