The XXX Bourbon Festival kicks off its ninth edition with eleven concerts featuring blues, soul, country, and rock until the end of November in Zaragoza
The Rock & Blues in Zaragoza hosts the ninth edition of the XXX Bourbon Festival, a cycle that will run until November 23, 2025. The program includes eleven concerts covering genres such as blues, soul, country, and rock, featuring artists of national and international acclaim. This edition solidifies its status as a key event for the Zaragoza music scene.
Since its first edition in 2015, the XXX Bourbon Festival has established itself as a cornerstone of the Zaragoza music scene. In its previous eight editions, it has featured artists like Danko Jones, Supersuckers, Nikki Hill, and Imelda May, among others. The Rock & Blues venue has become one of the essential locations in the national circuit for promoting genres that have emerged from genuine rock.
Initial Concerts of the XXX Bourbon Festival
Bywater Call (November 6)
Bywater Call is a seven-member Canadian band originating from Toronto that mixes Southern soul with roots rock. The band has been nominated numerous times for international blues awards, including their nomination for Best International Artist at the UK Blues Awards 2024. They have toured Europe, receiving critical acclaim in the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Their lead vocalist, Meghan Parnell, is highlighted as one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary blues. In 2023, they performed 96 concerts in 10 countries and participated in prominent festivals such as Smokestack Music Festival and Rockpalast. Their music is influenced by The Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Otis Redding. Tickets are available for 15 euros.
Lilly Hiatt (November 8)
Lilly Hiatt is one of the most distinctive voices in American alternative country. Her most recent album, Forever, was written and recorded at her home on the outskirts of Nashville, exploring themes of growth, anxiety, and the search for meaning. The album was composed and produced alongside her husband, Coley Hinson, and navigates between alternative rock and folk sensibilities. Hiatt is the daughter of the legendary John Hiatt, a key figure in contemporary American music whose songs have been covered by Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and other notable artists.
Highlighted Concerts on the Horizon
The festival includes four additional concerts: US Rails (November 13) will present their new work recorded in Philadelphia; The Boo Devils (November 15) will reappear with a new lineup; Sex Museum (November 22), pioneers of hard rock from Madrid since 1985, will return with 40 years of history; and Ward Hayden & The Outliers (November 23) will close the cycle with reinterpretations of Bruce Springsteen.
