Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza has launched the second edition of the urban garnacha tastings, an event that combines a passion for wine with a charitable component, as the funds raised will be donated to the Down Zaragoza Foundation. This initiative, in collaboration with Grandes Vinos, aims to energize the hotel spaces in the city while promoting local winemaking.
The tasting cycle will take place over six sessions throughout 2026, starting on April 17 at the Silken Reino de Aragón Hotel and concluding on November 19 at the Palafox Hotel. Each event will be held at 8:00 PM, with a limited capacity of between 40 and 50 people, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience for attendees. The chosen venues are iconic, reflecting the diversity and charm of the hotels associated with Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza.
Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza is launching the second edition of the urban tasting cycle that began last year, combining oenological dissemination and revitalization of the hotel spaces in the city. This initiative is developed in collaboration with Grandes Vinos, a leading winery in the Cariñena Designation of Origin, and aims to bring the public closer to the richness and versatility of garnacha, an emblematic grape variety of Aragon. As a novelty in this edition, the activity will have a symbolic cost of 10 euros per person. The entire proceeds will be allocated, once the cycle is completed, to employment integration programs promoted by the Down Zaragoza Foundation.
Following the positive reception of the first edition, the program returns in 2026 with six sessions scheduled throughout the remainder of the year. The tastings will be held at different associated establishments distributed as follows: On April 17 at the Silken Reino de Aragón Hotel; on May 21 at the Don Jaime 54 Hotel; on June 25 at the Los Girasoles Hotel-Aparthotel; on September 17 at the Vincci Zaragoza Zentro Hotel; on October 22 at the Ibis Styles Zaragoza Centro Hotel; and on November 19 at the Palafox Hotel. The sessions will begin at 8:00 PM, with capacities ranging from 40 to 50 people.
Each tasting will be led by a professional from Grandes Vinos, who will guide attendees through the tasting of six different wines made from garnacha. The format maintains an educational and accessible approach, aimed at the general public, enthusiasts, or those seeking a first introduction to the world of wine, emphasizing the diversity of profiles offered by this grape, recognized internationally for its flavor, natural sweetness, versatility, and ability to produce quality wines with fruity and smooth flavors. Anayón, Corona de Aragón, Monasterio de las Viñas, Hoy, or Núbilo, their latest release in non-alcoholic wines, will be the various brands that attendees can enjoy.
The president of Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza, Antonio Presencio, emphasizes that this second edition strengthens the hotel sector’s commitment to creating open and high-quality experiences around wine, tied to the territory and with a clear social component. Presencio adds that garnacha is one of the major oenological assets of Aragon and that these tastings contribute to positioning Zaragoza as a differentiated urban destination, capable of integrating tourism, culture, and solidarity.
Today, registration for this activity opens via the website, with limited spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza emphasizes that this initiative helps continue positioning the city as a benchmark in wine tourism, while also consolidating hotels as open spaces for citizens to develop cultural and experiential proposals.
