The unemployment rate in Aragón decreased in March 2026, reaching 49,862 unemployed individuals, which represents a reduction of 512 people compared to the previous month. This positive trend reflects a monthly decline of 1.02% and an annual decrease of 3.82%, consolidating a recovering labor market.
Reduction of unemployment by sectors and provinces
The drop in unemployment in March was widespread across all sectors of activity. The services sector experienced a decrease of 1.27%, while construction recorded a decline of 2.63%. Agriculture and industry also showed significant decreases of 3.46% and 0.88% respectively. By province, Huesca led the reduction with a 2.16% drop, followed by Teruel with a 2.86% decline and Zaragoza with a 0.62% reduction.
Year-on-year comparison: sustained improvement
Compared to March 2025, unemployment decreased by 1,980 people. This year-on-year decline was distributed between 1,007 men, representing a drop of 4.99%, and 973 women, with a decrease of 3.07%. The construction and industry sectors stood out with the largest annual reductions of 10.29% and 8.17% respectively, while services and agriculture recorded declines of 3.08% and 3.26%.
Hiring and affiliation: indicators of growth
In March, 36,823 contracts were recorded, of which 36.76% were permanent and 63.24% temporary. The average affiliation to Social Security reached 632,476 individuals, marking a historic record for the month of March. This increase translates to 3,245 more individuals compared to February and 12,724 more compared to March of the previous year, representing a monthly growth of 0.52% and an annual growth of 2.05%.
