The Zaragoza Book Fair 2026 is set to become the literary epicenter of the city, gathering 500 authors at the emblematic Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta. From May 30 to June 7, the event will provide a meeting space for booksellers, publishers, distributors, and readers, solidifying its status as an unmissable event for literature enthusiasts.
A Major Literary Event
With 77 booths and the participation of 52 entities, the Zaragoza Book Fair promises a packed agenda of activities. A total of 1,044 book-signing events are scheduled, featuring the participation of author Begoña Oro, who will kick off the fair with her opening speech on May 30. Opening hours will vary between weekends and weekdays, ensuring broad access for all visitors.
For the fifth consecutive year, Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta will serve as the venue for the event, transforming into a cultural landmark. Over the course of nine days, the park will host a variety of activities, including book presentations, workshops, and author meet-and-greets, aimed at a diverse audience of all ages.
Recognitions and Evolution of the Event
The 2026 edition will also witness the presentation of the II Zaragoza Book Fair Award to Ángel Gálvez, secretary of the Permanent Book Commission (COPELI). Gálvez, a key figure in revitalizing the fair since 1994, has been recognized for his contribution to the growth and consolidation of the event, which has expanded from 38 booths at its inception to nearly 80 today.
The recognition of Gálvez underscores the importance of collaboration among book industry associations in Zaragoza, which has allowed the fair to become a cornerstone event in the city. His gratitude highlights the joint efforts of everyone involved in the sector, from authors to institutions, in making this growth possible.
Cultural Programming and Activities for Everyone
The fair will not only focus on book sales but will also offer a diverse cultural program that includes illustration workshops and poetry readings. The AVANZA Microstories Award, now in its fifth edition, will be one of the highlighted events, with the jury’s decision due on June 3.
With nearly 50 scheduled activities, the event aims to promote citizen participation and bring literary culture closer to the entire community. The tent at Paseo de San Sebastián will emerge as the hub of activities, providing a conducive environment for cultural exchange and enjoyment of literature in all its forms.
