Zaragoza’s 2026 Pilar Festival: Programme, Concerts and Must-See Events, October 10–18

Zaragoza is preparing for nine days of celebrations featuring the Flower Offering, the opening proclamation, concerts by Antonio Orozco, Dani Fernández and Malú, children’s activities and new cultural venues across the city.

Zaragoza is putting the finishing touches on preparations for its most important festivities of the year. From Saturday, October 10, to Sunday, October 18, the 2026 Fiestas del Pilar will once again transform the Aragonese capital with a program combining music, tradition, street performances, gastronomy and cultural activities for all ages. Monday, October 12, the feast day of Our Lady of the Pillar, will host some of the most emblematic events of a celebration declared an International Tourist Interest Festival.

This year’s edition will feature new festival venues, a greater presence of performing arts and a musical program bringing together Spanish and international artists. Plaza del Pilar will retain its central role, although many events will extend to parks, neighborhoods and other venues across Zaragoza. The slogan chosen for this edition is «This Pilar, you’ll be moved.»

The October 10 opening proclamation will launch the festivities

Saturday, October 10, will mark the official opening of the Fiestas del Pilar. The opening proclamation, scheduled for 9 p.m. from the City Hall balcony, will be delivered by professionals from Zaragoza’s Firefighting, Rescue and Civil Protection Service, in recognition of their work in the city.

Before the proclamation, downtown streets will host a parade inspired by Zaragoza’s designation as the 2027 European Capital of Sport. Under the slogan «Champion Zaragoza,» the route will pay tribute to local athletes and clubs, incorporating elements of sports ceremonies, street theater and humor. Zaragoza artist Mar Giménez will perform El olor de Zaragoza before the main event, and the day will conclude with fireworks.

The Flower Offering takes center stage on October 12

The Flower Offering to Our Lady of the Pillar will once again be one of the festivities’ largest and most symbolic events. On Monday, October 12, thousands of participants dressed in regional and traditional costumes will make their way through central Zaragoza to lay flowers before the image of the Virgin in Plaza del Pilar.

The celebration offers a broad display of attire, music and traditions from across Aragon, other Spanish regions and foreign countries. Venezuela will be the guest country for the 2026 edition, reinforcing the international dimension of a tradition closely tied to Zaragoza’s identity.

Those wishing to take part individually may do so without prior registration, entering via the San Jorge, San Vicente de Paúl and Arcedianos route. Access will be available from 6:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. The City Hall recommends avoiding the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. period, when the largest concentration of participants is expected. A dedicated access option, by appointment, will also be available for people with disabilities, reduced mobility or chronic illnesses.

Pilar 2026 concerts: Antonio Orozco, Malú, Dani Fernández and many more

Music will be one of the festivities’ main attractions. Plaza del Pilar will once again serve as one of the main concert venues, with performances by popular artists and shows spanning a range of musical genres.

On Saturday, October 10, Antonio Orozco will open Plaza del Pilar’s musical program with a concert presented by Europa FM. The following day, Sunday the 11th, Dani Fernández will headline LOS40 Pilar Pop. On Saturday the 17th, Malú will perform on the same stage as part of Cadena 100’s program.

Plaza del Pilar’s music calendar will also feature the Carlos Cruz-Díez Symphony Orchestra on October 14, Alma Bakala, an electronic show by Huesca DJ Andrés Campo, on the 15th, and LOS40 Dance on the 16th. The closing event on Sunday the 18th will feature Somos, performed by Ara Malikian, Nacho del Río and the Ixena choir.
