Zaragoza will host the I National Congress of the Network of Leaders, Women Executives in Spanish Sports on October 24 and 25, organized by the Government of Aragon, the Youth Sports Foundation of the Higher Sports Council, and the Spanish Sports Association (ADESP). This event aims to promote female leadership and equality in the sports sector.
The congress has goals to analyze new leadership models, employability, and the visibility of female talent in sports. Additionally, it will promote the incorporation of women in all areas of sports through best practices and will showcase initiatives that are transforming the reality of women in this sector.
Cristina García, General Director of Sports of the Government of Aragon, highlighted the importance of making visible and enhancing the role of women in management, in line with the network of Aragonese ambassadors led by athlete Isabel Macías. Félix Jordán de Urríes, from the Youth Sports Foundation, emphasized the success of the Network of Leaders, which already includes 1,200 women, and the ambition to expand this model to Latin America. Asunción Loriente, from ADESP, stressed that increasing the female presence in executive positions enriches the management and vision of sports.
The congress will include presentations, round tables, and workshops focused on employability and leadership. Good practices for the incorporation of women into sports will also be presented, and challenges such as sports dropout among youth and post-career transitions will be analyzed.
