The Teruel Airport has begun the expansion works of its terminal, with an investment of 1,590,244.58 euros and the presence of authorities such as Octavio López, Emma Buj, and Manuel Blasco. This project aims to double the available space to accommodate the airport’s growth, the most important in its sector in Europe.
Project Details
The expansion, which is set to be completed by summer 2026, is being carried out by the joint venture formed by Industria de Infraestructuras Ideconsa S.L. and Trauxia S.A. The new building, shaped like an ‘L’, will feature two floors; the ground floor will house a dining area, while the upper floor will contain new offices and a meeting room.
Impact and Future Projections
The airport, which currently employs between 750 and 800 people, is a fundamental pillar for the economy of Teruel. Furthermore, future investments are anticipated to strengthen its role as a leading aerospace logistics center in Europe.
Additional Ongoing Works
In parallel, other constructions are underway, such as a hangar for stratospheric airships and the paving of the new Campa phase V, projects that also contribute to the development and expansion of the airport.
