INO Reproducciones and the book No hay pudor en las confidencias, published by the Gara d’Edizions Association, have received Aragón’s 2025 book industry awards at a ceremony held at the IAACC Pablo Serrano. The honors recognize half a century of work in the graphic arts and an edition meticulously crafted in every detail.
INO Reproducciones receives Aragón’s 2025 Book Industry Lifetime Achievement Award
The Government of Aragón has awarded the 2025 Aragón Book Industry Lifetime Achievement Award to INO Reproducciones, a graphic arts company recognized for its 50 years in business, its commitment to book publishing, and the quality of its work. Its owner, Francisco Ortiz, accepted the award during the ceremony, hosted by the director general for Culture and Cultural Heritage, Pedro Olloqui.
Ortiz described the recognition as “the crowning achievement” of his professional career, in the same year as his retirement. The company head focused on the people with whom he has shared these five decades of activity, noting that relationships with clients, publishers, and printing firms have ultimately become friendships.
INO Reproducciones has printed books on a wide range of subjects and, over the past 25 years, has produced around 8,000 titles and more than 14 million copies. Ortiz encouraged younger generations interested in graphic arts to keep striving to improve and to retrain in the face of the challenges posed by new technologies.
The vice president and regional minister for the Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sports, Mar Vaquero, highlighted the company’s ability to adapt to technological and economic changes. She also said its track record has helped bring thousands of works to readers, describing the award as a fitting conclusion to a career linked to Aragón’s graphic arts industry.
‘No hay pudor en las confidencias’ named Best Published Book in Aragón
The 2025 Award for the Best Published Book in Aragón went to No hay pudor en las confidencias, published by the Gara d’Edizions Association. Publisher Chusé Aragüés accepted the award for a work whose design, choice of materials, typography, and print quality were recognized by the jury.
The jury also highlighted the integration of illustrations by Jorge Gay with texts by Gerardo Alquézar. For Aragüés, the award recognizes “the care, the effort” and the dedication of those who work professionally with books. The association has been active in publishing for 34 years.
Aragüés attributed the result to collective creativity built on individual contributions. In his view, a well-edited book need not necessarily be the most expensive, but rather a publication produced with care, respect for the reader, and an appropriate choice of materials.
Vaquero underscored the value of books as cultural objects and argued that publishing goes beyond content. Design, typography, paper, and binding, she said, are part of an experience that can spark interest even before the first page is opened.
Ceremony highlights Aragón’s book value chain
During the presentation, Mar Vaquero said both awards share a love of books and a pursuit of excellence. The regional minister said the recognition encompasses the entire publishing value chain: creation, editing, printing, and cultural outreach.
The vice president said Aragón’s cultural sector is going through a positive period, highlighting the work of publishers, recognition for authors, the role of bookstores, and the staging of reading-related fairs and festivals. The event concluded by recognizing industry professionals and values such as a job well done, perseverance, and high standards.
