CEOE Aragón Boosts International Tenders Worth 50 Million

CEOE Aragón aims to expand the presence of companies from the region in international tenders, a market for contracts and procurement by multilateral organizations worth more than $90 billion annually. Through its International Tenders Plan (PLI), the organization has already helped secure contracts worth nearly €50 million.

International tenders open up markets for companies in Aragón

Multilateral organizations—including the United Nations, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, and various development banks—award more than $90 billion in contracts and procurement each year. This volume makes international procurement a route to large-scale projects for companies of different sizes.

Spain’s participation in this market remains limited. Spain ranks 44th among supplier countries to the United Nations, with its contracts accounting for 0.56% of the total. CEOE Aragón sees this position as offering room for growth for Spanish and Aragonese companies.

Multilateral tenders offer transparency, legal certainty, and financial soundness. They also enable companies to enter new countries, boost export activity, and compete for projects beyond their usual markets.

The International Tenders Plan has secured contracts worth nearly €50 million

The International Tenders Plan, managed by CEOE Aragón with the support of the Government of Aragón, has helped secure contracts worth close to €50 million over the years it has been in operation.

Companies from Aragón focus their bids primarily on countries in the European Union, although they also compete for opportunities in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Complex procedures, a lack of information, language barriers, and tight deadlines are among the main obstacles to accessing these tenders.

CEOE Aragón sees the region’s international profile as an industrial and technological hub as an opportunity to strengthen the presence of Aragonese companies in international procurement markets.

Two workshops on selling to the United Nations and accessing the multilateral market

CEOE Aragón will hold two practical workshops designed to bring these opportunities closer to companies in the region. The first session, How to Sell to the United Nations, will take place on October 23.

The second workshop, Access to the Multilateral Market, will be held on October 30. Both sessions will cover opportunities related to international financial institutions and multilateral organizations, as well as the mechanisms for participating in their tenders.
