Bizi Zaragoza has completed its third month with data that consolidates its establishment as a robust alternative for urban transportation. Since its launch on January 15, 2025, the system has recorded 719,858 trips, amounting to over 1.77 million kilometers traveled by its users.
As of April 10, there are 30,386 people registered for the service, of which 17,045 have an annual subscription. There are also 784 monthly subscriptions, 6,288 daily subscriptions, and an additional number of users who have utilized single tickets.
During the second week of April, notable usage peaks were reached: on April 9, there were 14,121 trips recorded, and on April 10, 14,406. This represents an average of over 13 uses per day per bike. Currently, the network operates with 1,091 bicycles and 108 stations, during its first phase of implementation.
It is expected that starting in May, the installation of new stations will begin, with the goal of reaching 2,500 bicycles and 271 stations as stipulated by contract. According to the established timelines, the full service is expected to be available in the autumn.
The collected data reveals that Bizi Zaragoza already accounts for almost half of all bicycle trips in the city. Furthermore, it has altered the modal distribution between bicycles and personal mobility vehicles (PMVs): prior to its implementation, PMVs accounted for 65% of trips; currently, bicycles represent 60%, of which nearly 50% are from the Bizi system.
The average time per trip is 11 minutes, with an average distance of 1.64 kilometers and an average speed of 11.98 km/h. The most frequent routes during the week include the journey between Paseo Sagasta and Plaza de España; on holidays, the route from Plaza de España to Plaza de San Francisco stands out. The most used stations are concentrated in the center, particularly Plaza de España.
The user profile is also diverse: the most numerous age group is between 19 and 29 years (9,582 users), followed by the 30 to 44 age group (7,858) and the 45 to 59 age group (7,064). There are also more than 3,000 users over the age of 60.
Daily use of Bizi allows for the identification of urban mobility patterns. Peak times are recorded at 8:30, 15:30, and 20:00, coinciding with work and school schedules.
