Miguel Risueño: «we are a young company, fresher in the process of creating ideas and riskier»

Miguel Risueño, from Zaragoza, carries out his business activity in Los Angeles, where he has held the position of Creative Director of Production Club since 2012. A company that produces worldwide events such as the Superbowl.

Miguel Risueño, from Zaragoza, carries out his business activity in Los Angeles, where he has held the position of Creative Director of Production Club since 2012. Miguel is the person in charge of designing major worldwide events such as the Superbowl with a whole set of special effects, lights and sound. He also produces the tours of major artists.

To learn more about his activity, he has granted an interview to Go Aragón in which he tells us how Production Club, a multidisciplinary creative studio specialized in the design and production of immersive experiences for the music, technology and video game industries, was created. Its main offices are in Los Angeles and Spain.

It currently has a global team of about 50 people, of which 15 are Spanish. The Creative Director of Production Club reveals and gives us the keys to how they are organized in a delocalized way: «The team in Spain does their day and when they finish they leave their conclusions, files or their projects so that the next person who is in the United States can continue. That makes us competitive because we do two days of work in one,» says Miguel.

His studio has a diverse portfolio of projects that combine design with emerging technologies, including the Intersect Festival, Amazon’s first music, art and technology festival; the Chainsmokers’ World War Joy tour; Grimes, Nina Kraviz and SOPHIE’s Bio-Haque; and numerous projects for Skrillex, YouTube, Amazon Web Services, and Intel, among others.

And recently, and for the second time, Production Club has collaborated in the production of a major global event such as the Super Bowl. Production Club’s creative director affirms that the National Football League (NFL) is a traditional organization that is modernizing. And for that reason, Miguel believes «that what has caught their attention is that Production Club is a young company, fresher in the process of creating ideas and more risky».

Finally, Miguel Risueño tries to explain in this interview how is the process they carry out to develop events or musical shows and how long it takes more or less to develop it. Some jobs require a lot of creativity, he says. «The most important thing is to understand what the client needs. From there, more creatively and internally, we look for the best solutions. You could say that each process is different depending on what the client needs,» says Miguel.
