A total of 23 Aragonese companies participated in the Open Navantia event in San Fernando (Cádiz), coordinated by AREX. The initiative aims to expand industrial subcontracting opportunities with Navantia, a leader in the growing Spanish naval sector.
Companies from sectors such as precision machining, HVAC systems, software and cybersecurity, technical consulting, and industrial services explored collaboration avenues with Navantia. During the event, they learned about business areas, projects, bidding procedures, and approval requirements. In addition, they held B2B meetings and visited the Navantia Training Center.
Navantia is experiencing a period of significant growth driven by defense projects and offshore renewable energy, which could double its revenue in the coming years. Factors such as the need for a resilient supply chain, increased access to financing, and innovation in defense favor opportunities for suppliers.
This participation is part of a collaboration initiated over a year ago between AREX and Navantia’s procurement department. Previous actions include a visit to Cádiz in March 2024 (11 companies in person, 17 online), the Meet The Buyer Aragón event in September (meetings with 20+ companies), and the FEINDEF fair in May 2025.
