Managing a business well does not depend on its size, but rather on the method. In a fast-changing economic environment, small and medium-sized enterprises face the challenge of adapting, innovating, and maintaining efficiency. With this premise in mind, the Aragonese Institute of Promotion (IAF) has developed its own business management model, designed to strengthen the competitiveness of the Aragonese business fabric and support its transformation.
The new model will be officially presented on November 13 at the Aragón Business Summit 2025, taking place starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Congress Palace of Zaragoza.
A model made in and for Aragon
For decades, the IAF has promoted the use of management models aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of Aragonese companies, collaborating with benchmarks such as the EFQM model. However, the current reality of the business fabric in the community required a new approach. Therefore, the Aragonese Institute of Promotion has decided to take a step forward and create its own model: a tool designed specifically for Aragonese SMEs, simpler, more flexible, and tailored to their particularities.
The result of over a year of joint work with experts and representatives from the business sector, this new model is a solid and versatile tool, as well as being integrative and innovative.
The four dimensions of business management
The IAF’s management model offers a practical and structured framework for companies to analyze their management, identify areas for improvement, and apply best practices in an orderly manner. «This translates into greater efficiency, productivity, and adaptability to market changes. Moreover, its integral structure based on four dimensions allows companies to view their management as a coherent system rather than acting in isolated departments,» explains Daniel Rey, Manager of the Aragonese Institute of Promotion.
These four dimensions reflect the fundamental areas of the company: Strategy and Governance, focused on purpose, vision, and leadership, which drives corporate culture and strategic coherence. Operations and Customers, centered on sales, marketing, commercial management, and operations, emphasizing efficiency and customer satisfaction. Resources and Talent, which encompasses finance, human resources management, and sustainability, ensuring a solid foundation for growth. Transformation and Innovation, integrating innovation, technology, and R&D as engines of change and future competitiveness.
A global tool for Aragonese SMEs
The IAF has developed this new business management model that integrates innovation and technology as fundamental pillars. Specifically designed for SMEs, it provides a comprehensive view of each organization’s functioning and helps identify actions with the greatest positive impact.
Adaptable to any sector or maturity level, the model proposes a more practical and accessible management approach. It includes two levels of access: one complete and one simplified, and features self-diagnosis tools tested with real companies, facilitating agile and intuitive analysis and continuous improvement.
Following the presentation of the model at the Aragón Business Summit, the IAF will launch a training, mentoring, and support program for all interested companies. To attend the presentation, it is necessary to register for free at www.iaf.es.
With this new model, the Aragonese Institute of Promotion is not only launching a tool: it is promoting a more practical and accessible management approach, reaffirming its commitment to the competitiveness and innovation of the Aragonese business fabric.
