Aragón takes a decisive step to position itself as one of the most relevant data center hubs in Europe with the launch of The Wave Data Centers in collaboration with DCD, a new specialized event that integrates into the ecosystem of The Wave 2026.
This meeting, the result of the strategic alliance between The Wave and DatacenterDynamics (DCD) —the global reference platform in digital infrastructure—, will take place from April 14 to 16 at Mobility City, complementing the main activities that will be held at the Zaragoza Congress Palace.
An Event Designed for the Data Center Sector
The «The Wave Data Centers» initiative has a clear goal of boosting investment, high-level networking, and the exchange of technical knowledge in one of the fastest-growing segments of the current digital economy. Aragón supports this initiative with over 90 billion euros in announced investments in the technology sector, making the region one of the most attractive territories for data center operators in Southern Europe.
The program is structured in two distinct phases:
- April 14 and 15 (Innovation Showcase): An expo area open to all accredited visitors of The Wave. Leading companies in the sector will showcase advanced technologies in cooling, energy efficiency, connectivity, sustainability, and security for data centers live.
- April 16 (Exclusive Professional Day): An invite-only event aimed at around 400 key leaders and decision-makers in the sector. It includes presentations, expert panels, Tech Talks, and high-level discussions on the present and future of digital infrastructure, both globally and in Aragón.
Acknowledgment of Aragón’s Potential
Jose Luis Friebel, Chief Growth Officer of InfraXMedia (DCD), stated:
“The arrival of this specialized event highlights Aragón’s relevance in the global digital ecosystem. By combining DCD’s expertise with The Wave’s energy, we create a unique space where technical innovation combines with the strategic decisions that will define the future of the sector in the region and its economic development.”
The Wave’s organization emphasizes that data centers are today one of the main drivers of economic activity, employment, and innovation in Aragón, deserving specific prominence within the congress.
Synergy with The Wave 2026
This new specialized event reinforces the comprehensive nature of The Wave 2026, which already features Japan as the guest country, five distinct spaces in the Congress Palace, and a public day on April 16. The combination of both spaces —the Congress Palace and Mobility City— makes Zaragoza the meeting point in Europe for three days where general digital transformation, business innovation, and critical data center infrastructure converge.
For operators, technology providers, investors, and administrations, The Wave Data Centers represents a unique opportunity to establish direct contacts, learn about the latest market solutions, and analyze the trends that will define the next generation of digital infrastructures.
