The Councillor of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food of the Government of Aragón, Javier Rincón, along with the General Director of Innovation and Agrifood Promotion, Amparo Cuéllar, visited the XVII edition of the international fair Fruit Attraction 2025 at IFEMA Madrid. The Community presents a new booth under the brand Alimentos de Aragón «Aragón, true flavor» with a prominent participation of sector companies.
Aragón has 36 Aragonese companies at the fair, of which 22 are participating collectively in the new Alimentos de Aragón booth. This figure represents a 10% increase compared to the previous year, reflecting the dynamism of the sector. The booth occupies 384 m² divided into three islands of 128 m² in Pavilion 7 of IFEMA, designed to enhance business visibility and facilitate international professional contacts.
National Leadership in Stone Fruit
Aragón anticipates exceeding 600,000 tons of production in 2025. Stone fruit —peach, nectarine, flat peach, and cherry— positions the Community as the leading national producer and a European powerhouse in this segment. The sector is complemented by crops such as vineyards, almond trees, and olive groves. According to Councillor Rincón, Aragón produces approximately 25% of Spain’s fruit.
International Projection and Exports
The external market is a fundamental pillar of the Aragonese fruit sector. Europe accounts for 69% of fruit and vegetable exports, with France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom as the main destinations. The sector is experiencing growth in emerging markets in Eastern Europe and Asia, especially Thailand and China. The Aragonese agrifood sector exported 3.713 billion euros in 2024, a 5% increase compared to 2023.
