Aragon Government Reopens San Juan de la Peña Hostel

The Government of Aragón Reopens the San Juan de la Peña Hospedería with an Investment of 3.2 Million

The President of the Government of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, announced on October 22, 2025, the reopening of the San Juan de la Peña hospedería after seven years of closure. The investment allocated for its startup amounts to 3.2 million euros, implementing a management model with a social component.

The management of the site has been awarded to a Huesca-based social integration company that will generate 20 jobs during the first year. Of the total positions, 30% will be designated for individuals at risk of social exclusion or with disabilities.

San Juan de la Peña recorded over 74,000 visitors during 2024, while by September 2025, it had surpassed 60,000 visitors. The site will establish itself as the first digitized destination in Aragón starting in early 2026, offering immersive experiences that combine technology and heritage.

Expansion of the Hospedería Voucher Program

The Government of Aragón will increase the budget allocated to the hospedería vouchers by 40% during 2026. These vouchers offer a 50% discount on overnight stays and breakfast, allowing thousands of Aragonese residents to rediscover their autonomous community.
