The Government of Aragón has launched the Rebién program, an innovative initiative aimed at improving emotional well-being and coexistence in classrooms across the region. Presented by the councilor Tomasa Hernández at the Juan de Lanuza Teacher Training Center, this project will be implemented in 29 educational institutions starting in January, benefiting more than 5,000 students in early childhood and the first cycle of primary education.
Emotional and Educational Empowerment
Rebién focuses on providing tools for the identification and regulation of emotions, strengthening self-esteem, and practicing assertiveness, in addition to incorporating mindfulness activities. This program will be developed during tutoring sessions, using adapted materials provided by the publisher Edelvives, suitable for the maturity of the students. Furthermore, it includes online training for teachers and support for families through training modules in collaboration with universities.
Participation and Territorial Coverage
The program will cover 19 centers in Zaragoza, 7 in Huesca, and 3 in Teruel. In Zaragoza, institutions such as C.E.I.P. Aragón in Alagón and the Santa Ana school in Calatayud are participating, among others. Huesca includes centers like C.E.I.P. Miguel Servet in Fraga, while Teruel features the San Valero school in Alcañiz and C.R.A. Eras del Jiloca in Calamocha. This broad geographic distribution ensures a significant impact across the entire educational community of Aragón.
Technological Innovation and Collaborative Network
The Kanjo platform is a key tool in Rebién, allowing for the analysis and visualization of variations in students’ emotional patterns for early intervention. Coral Elizondo, an expert in inclusive education, delivered an inspiring conference as part of the program’s activities. Additionally, expert neuropsychiatrists will provide online theoretical training to teachers, ensuring a solid knowledge base for educational staff.
Rebién not only seeks to enhance students’ emotional well-being but also to create «The Rebién Community,» a collaborative network among participating schools to share experiences and learning. This program complements measures against bullying and aligns with other initiatives like Henka, aimed at secondary students, focused on developing resilience.
