Aragón Leads Regional Participation in the European Hydrogen Week 2025
The Government of Aragón and the Hydrogen Foundation of Aragón have participated in the European Hydrogen Week held in Brussels. The autonomous community strengthens its leadership position in the development of the hydrogen economy and energy valleys at the European level.
The General Director of Industrial Promotion and Innovation, Mar Paños, took part in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Hydrogen Europe and the European Hydrogen Valleys S3 Partnership. Paños emphasized that this document «reflects a firm commitment to move forward together, to combine efforts between regions and industry, and to build together the energy and industrial future that Europe needs.»
Aragón is a founding member of the European Hydrogen Valleys S3 Partnership and is currently one of the three leaders, alongside Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Normandy, and Northern Netherlands. The Aragonese community is also the only Spanish region represented on the Board of Directors that coordinates Hydrogen Europe, where it advocates for the interests of regions promoting hydrogen.
Javier Navarro, a trustee and assistant to the Presidency of the Hydrogen Foundation of Aragón, participated in the panel titled «Hydrogen Valleys: regions meet industry event» to reinforce the alignment between regions and the industrial sector regarding the concept of hydrogen valleys.
The participation of Aragón aims to demonstrate its commitment as a leading region in energy transition policies, innovation, and industrial development related to hydrogen. It also seeks to enhance the visibility of the hydrogen valley model as a key instrument for articulating local ecosystems of production, distribution, and demand, as well as to lay the groundwork for joint pilot projects and promote cooperation among regions and with the European industry.
