Aragón Sonoro 2023 Promotes Men’s Health with TheMoveMen

The Aragón Sonoro festival, held in Alcañiz, is partnering this year with TheMoveMen to raise awareness of prostate cancer. This collaboration aims to leverage the event’s crowd to encourage conversations about men’s health issues that often remain silenced.

The impact of the Aragón Sonoro festival on the community

In its seventh edition, Aragón Sonoro has established itself as one of the most important musical events of the summer in Spain. The festival will take place from July 23 to 25, featuring a top-tier lineup that includes 50% local Aragón artists, highlighting the richness of the local music scene.

The partnership with TheMoveMen is one of the most significant new developments this year. Founded by Javier Alcázar after his prostate cancer diagnosis, the organization aims to break the silence surrounding this disease, which affects the male population at a rate comparable to that of breast cancer in women, but with far less visibility.

Initiatives for raising awareness about men’s health

The festival has launched a campaign under the slogan «Let Silence Not Be the Headliner,» which includes specific T-shirts for bartenders and social media giveaways, thus integrating the message of awareness into the festive atmosphere. Marta Alquézar, Alcañiz’s Councilor for Social Health, emphasizes the importance of discussing men’s health to avoid delays in prevention and diagnosis.

Alquézar, also a nurse, stresses that the festival is a unique opportunity to spread this message among a wide and diverse audience. The initiative aims for attendees, especially men, to become aware of the importance of getting medical check-ups and consulting health professionals for any symptoms.

TheMoveMen’s commitment to men’s health

Javier Alcázar, founder of TheMoveMen, believes that combining a music festival with a social cause is a brave and necessary action. Alcázar is confident this collaboration will not only raise awareness among many men about the importance of discussing their health issues but will also encourage them to seek regular check-ups.

This initiative at Aragón Sonoro represents a significant effort to change the narrative around men’s health, using music and the festive environment as platforms to generate a positive and lasting impact on the community.
