Business optimism in Aragón is strengthening as the region experiences its best economic moment, as highlighted by Mar Vaquero, Vice President and Acting Minister of Presidency, Economy, and Justice, during the presentation of the KPMG Aragón 2026 Perspectives Report. This analysis, presented at the CEOE Aragón facilities, emphasizes the confidence of local businesses in the economic growth of the community.
Aragonese Economy: Growth and Employment in Figures
The Aragón 2026 Perspectives Report reveals that 88% of Aragonese companies perceive the economic situation as good or excellent. Vaquero emphasized that the GDP of Aragón will grow more than the national average in the next two years, a phenomenon that has occurred only three times in the last twelve years. This trend is also reflected in the labor market, where Aragón reaches record affiliation figures, and Huesca has the lowest unemployment rate in Spain.
Business Adaptation to the Geopolitical Context
Aragonese companies are responding to the changing geopolitical context with caution and strategic adjustments. According to the report, 51% of companies have modified or plan to modify their international strategy, while 26% are still evaluating the situation. Looking towards 2026, 74% of companies expect to maintain or improve their performance in terms of revenue, investment, and employment. Specifically, 76% expect to increase their revenue, 51% plan to boost their investment, and 41% contemplate expanding their workforce.
Digital Transformation and Business Priorities
Digital transformation is solidifying as a priority for Aragonese companies. Profitability remains the main objective for 74% of companies, alongside improving operational efficiency. Artificial intelligence is gaining prominence, with 61% of companies prioritizing investments in this technology to automate processes and improve talent attraction.
