The Denomination of Origin Cariñena has launched the Plan Ñ, an initiative aimed at transforming wine consumption among new generations. Presented in Zaragoza, this project focuses on innovative experiences and exclusive cocktails to attract a younger audience.
Innovation and Mixology with Plan Ñ
The Plan Ñ will be implemented throughout 2026 with various actions, starting with the collaboration of renowned bartender Borja Insa. This collaboration has resulted in the Cariñena Spritz, four exclusive cocktails crafted with the Garnacha Nueva range from Cariñena. The participating wineries, Grandes Vinos, Paniza, San Valero, and Ignacio Marín, have contributed to creating distinctive flavors such as peach, apple, lychee, and blackberry, which reinterpret classic concepts in a contemporary manner.
The objective is to offer an innovative experience that connects with current consumption preferences, especially among young people. This strategy not only aims to modernize the image of the D.O. Cariñena but also to expand its reach into new markets.
Accessibility and New Consumption Spaces
From May 15, the cocktails will be available at the Moonlight Experimental Bar of Borja Insa and at various locations in Zaragoza, such as Gonzo, Ginger, and Frida. The more accessible Spritz version adapts to informal consumption, allowing consumers to enjoy these innovative cocktails in a relaxed environment.
This strategic distribution aims to position Cariñena Spritz as a preferred option for afternoon gatherings and appetizers, key moments for socializing among new generations.
Antonio Serrano, president of the D.O. Cariñena, highlighted the adaptability of this historic denomination, coinciding with Zaragoza’s recognition as the European City of Wine 2025. With an alcohol content of 11%, Garnacha Nueva presents an attractive option for consumers looking for new and refreshing experiences.
The Director of Communication and Marketing, Sonia Pérez, emphasized that the goal is to expand the presence of Cariñena Spritz to more bars and cities, consolidating Cariñena as a reference in Garnacha cocktails. This strategy is part of a continuous effort to demonstrate that wine can be a part of memorable and accessible moments for all generations.
