The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Aragon has formalized the acquisition of two new plots in the Aragonese Technology District (DAT) Alierta, totaling 25,000 square meters. This agreement, established on June 10, 2025, strengthens research and technological transfer in the region.
The first plot, adjacent to the Institute of Carboquímica (ICB), covers 5,000 m² and will be dedicated to an energy hub. This space will focus on CO₂ capture, renewable hydrogen, nanoscience, and batteries projects. The second plot, significantly larger at 20,000 m², will allow for the expansion of laboratories and research groups, responding to the growth of scientific activity.
Mar Vaquero, Vice President of Aragon, highlighted DAT Alierta as a «leading technological hub in Europe» and emphasized the synergies among educational, business, and innovative sectors. For her part, Claudia Pérez, Minister of Employment, Science, and Universities, stressed the importance of CSIC in strategic projects related to energy, agriculture, and climate change.
