A group of 19 young people from Huesca is participating in an educational exchange with Tarbes, France, from February 18 to 25, 2026. This initiative, organized by the Town Hall of Huesca, aims to strengthen the ties between the sister cities and promote linguistic immersion among teenagers.
Objectives and Participation of the Exchange
The participants, students aged between 13 and 15 from various institutes in Huesca, have the opportunity to improve their language skills and strengthen cross-border connections. This program not only fosters cohabitation between neighboring countries but also provides an enriching experience in a different educational environment.
The exchange is set within the context of the twinning between Huesca and Tarbes, celebrated for the first time on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of this relationship. The initial experience involved 20 families and resulted in a success that motivated its repetition with an extended duration.
Scheduled Activities in Tarbes
During their stay in Tarbes, the young people from Huesca will attend classes at a local institute, stay with host families, and participate in various activities organized by the city’s youth service. Notable proposals include a visit to a castle, an excursion into nature, and an official reception, designed to offer a complete cultural immersion.
Second Phase of the Exchange in Huesca
The second phase of the program will take place in Huesca from April 20 to 26, 2026, when the French families will return the visit. During this phase, the structure of the exchange will be replicated, including attendance at educational centers and cohabitation activities. In addition, visitors will be able to explore the natural and cultural spaces of the region, thereby consolidating the shared educational and cultural experience.
