Mar Paños emphasized that investments in data centers are propelling Aragón to the forefront of European technological development. A report from the Basilio Paraiso Foundation predicts that by 2028, at the peak of investments, this industry will represent approximately 17% of the Gross Domestic Product of Aragón. This projected growth not only underscores the importance of the sector but also promises a significant impact on the regional economy.
The rise of the data center industry is fostering a robust business ecosystem in Aragón. Strategic projects such as DAT Alierta are becoming national benchmarks, increasing economic and job opportunities within the community. The Renmad DataCenters meeting, held from February 18 to 19 in Zaragoza, brought together over 40 experts and 150 leaders in the sector.
