Exports from Aragón rose 3.7% year over year in July 2026 to reach €1.4376 billion, while imports fell 11.8%. The combination of both trends lifted Aragón’s monthly trade surplus to €157.3 million.
Aragón’s exports outpace national growth in July 2026
Aragón’s foreign trade outperformed the Spanish average in July. The region’s exports increased 3.7%, compared with a 3.0% rise across Spain, where exports totaled €35.4537 billion.
Aragón’s imports stood at €1.2803 billion, after declining 11.8% year over year. In Spain, by contrast, imports rose 5.9%. Aragón therefore closed the month with an export coverage ratio of 112.3%, above the national figure of 87.2%, while Spain’s trade deficit reached €5.2241 billion.
Automotive and food industries account for the bulk of Aragón’s exports
The automotive sector led Aragón’s exports in July, with sales of €358.2 million, equivalent to 24.9% of the total. It was followed by food, beverages and tobacco, with €305.2 million and a 21.2% share, and capital goods, which contributed €244.8 million, or 17.0%.
These three sectors accounted for 63.2% of Aragón’s exports in the sectoral breakdown. On the import side, capital goods ranked first, with €457.0 million and 35.7% of the total, ahead of consumer manufactures, at €290.3 million, and chemical products, at €156.7 million.
Aragón posts a €221.3 million surplus through July
In the first seven months of 2026, Aragón’s exports increased 4.6% year over year, outpacing the 2.2% growth recorded across Spain. Imports, meanwhile, posted a cumulative decline of 13.8%, compared with national growth of 5.3%.
Aragón’s cumulative trade balance through July remained positive at €221.3 million. The export coverage ratio reached 102.4%, compared with 86.2% for Spain, whose cumulative trade deficit rose to €38.0051 billion.
