Zaragoza expects a hotel occupancy rate of 69% for the Fiestas del Pilar 2025
The Association of Hotels of Zaragoza and Province has slightly higher expectations than last year, although the figures remain below pre-pandemic levels. Saturday, October 11, is anticipated to be the day with the highest demand, with a forecast exceeding 86% hotel occupancy.
The forecasts from Horeca Hoteles Zaragoza indicate an average occupancy of nearly 69% for these festivities, representing an improvement from the 67% recorded in 2024. This figure is at similar levels to those of 2023 (almost 69%) and 2022 (almost 68%), but is still 8 points shy of the percentages reached before the pandemic when, in 2019, a 77.50% occupancy was recorded.
The days of highest hotel demand correspond to the two weekends encompassing the festivities. Saturday, October 4, is projected to have an occupancy rate of 82.04%, Friday, October 10, is expected to reach 77.66%, Saturday, October 11, will achieve 86.49%, and Sunday, October 12, has a forecast of 77.59%. The remaining days maintain expectations in the range of 56-70% occupancy.
Visitor Profile and Duration of Stays
Contrary to what happened the previous year, there is a slight decrease in the percentage of international visitors, which falls from 18.64% in 2024 to 16.95% in 2025. The primary international origins include France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, and United Kingdom, while notable national sources are Madrid, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Basque Country, Navarre, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, and Aragon.
Nevertheless, an increase in the average length of stay for visitors is expected, rising to 2.14 days from 1.92 days last year. The coincidence of the Pilar holiday falling on a Sunday has contributed to improving occupancy rates by extending stays over that weekend.
