The Ibercaja Foundation has launched its new cultural program for 2025-2026 with the celebration of the second concert in the «Noches de Cogullada» series. The musical evening took place at the Auditorium of the Ibercaja Foundation Campus with a full house, attended by prominent authorities of the institution.
The Cantantibus Organis Symphony Orchestra, consisting of 50 musicians under the direction of José María Berdejo Marín, was responsible for performing the program of the night. Berdejo Marín, who also serves as the music director of the Cathedrals of Zaragoza, conducted the orchestra led by concertmaster Darío Sierra.
Program Performed
The repertoire of the evening included two major classical works. The first was the Overture 1812, Op. 49 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, described as one of his most impactful works narrating the defeat of Napoleon. The second piece was Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95/B. 178, known as the «New World Symphony» by Antonín Dvořák, inspired by the landscapes and music of America.
Among the attendees at the concert were distinguished figures from the institution: Amado Franco, president of the Ibercaja Foundation; José Luis Rodrigo, general director; and Francisco Serrano, president of Ibercaja Banco.
Context of the Cultural Cycle
The «Noches de Cogullada» represent a new cycle of musical excellence that adds to the consolidated programming of the Ibercaja Foundation. This cycle had its inaugural event last June and is characterized by combining high-quality music with the unique setting of the Monastery of Cogullada.
The cultural programming of the Ibercaja Foundation includes various regular activities such as «Tuesday Book Talks,» «Cinema Box,» «Music Box,» and exhibitions, currently highlighted by «Goya. Interlude» at the Patio de La Infanta.
This institution thus reaffirms its commitment to culture and the arts, with the primary objective of bringing these manifestations closer to society through management that fosters innovation in programs and activities.
