The Ibercaja Foundation has launched a national call to recognize «Reference Teachers» in Spain, aimed at highlighting educational excellence in the country. This initiative, which has the Honorary Presidency of H.R.H. Infanta Doña Sofía, is part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the foundation.
The call is directed towards active teachers in regulated education throughout Spain, encompassing everything from early childhood education to vocational training and special education. Interested parties have until April 22 to submit their applications. This opportunity is open to professionals from public, charter, and private institutions, allowing for broad participation in recognizing educational excellence.
Five categories to highlight educational excellence
The Ibercaja Foundation program includes five recognition categories: Educational Leadership, Sustainability in Education, Comprehensive Health Education, Educational Research and Knowledge Transfer, and Inclusive Education. Each category is designed to award projects that stand out for their methodological excellence, innovative capacity, and positive impact on students and the educational community. These categories reflect a comprehensive approach towards improving and advancing the educational system in Spain.
Selection process and prizes
A total of 25 finalists will be selected, five from each category, by a Committee of Experts and an independent jury composed of nationally and internationally recognized professionals. Each category winner will receive a grant of 12,000 euros for their project, while the finalists will be honored with a certificate. This recognition not only highlights the work of teachers but also aims to encourage the continuous improvement of the educational system through innovative and effective projects.
