LINAMAR LIGHT METALS ZARAGOZA (LLMZ) has celebrated its 80th anniversary, highlighting its strategic role in the global automotive industry. The event, held at Mobility City, gathered 200 attendees, including the Vice President of the Government of Aragon, Mar Vaquero, who emphasized governmental support for the automotive sector.
An anniversary marked by institutional presence and recognition
LLMZ’s commemorative event featured participation from key figures in institutional and business circles, including Vice President Mar Vaquero. During her speech, Vaquero underscored the importance of the Government of Aragon’s support for industrial development, asserting that its role is to be an ally for growth and job creation in the region. The ceremony also included representatives from the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce, CEOE Aragón, and the Aragon Automotive and Mobility Cluster (CAAR), who highlighted LLMZ’s significance as an industrial driver in Aragon.
Investment in innovation and production for electric mobility
LLMZ has made a strategic investment of 20 million euros for its most ambitious project: the production of 1.6 million knuckle carriers annually for VW-SEAT. This initiative, which began in 2026, is geared towards electric vehicles, positioning the plant at the forefront of the transition to electric mobility. With 400 employees, LLMZ reaffirms its status as a leader in aluminum components, both in Spain and Europe.
Economic projections and technological advancements
The plant, with an annual turnover of 80 million euros and an export volume exceeding 70%, is projected to reach 100 million euros by 2029. Additionally, it is preparing to implement CPC technology in 2027, which will mark an evolution in aluminum casting. This technological advancement reinforces its commitment to electric mobility, with projections indicating that half of its production will be dedicated to this sector.
