The Linde + Wiemann plant in Pedrola (Zaragoza) has invested €7 million in a new structural component for Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles, a project that strengthens its position in the electric-mobility value chain and has created skilled jobs.

The project developed at the Pedrola factory includes the design, development, and production of a new structural component for Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles. The initiative strengthens the plant’s position as one of the group’s benchmark centers in next-generation mobility.
The company has allocated €8.4 million over the past five years to this business line. The investment now completed amounts to €7 million and has received support through Aragón regional government programs, including Transformación y Desarrollo Industrial (TDI) grants.
Eva Valle, the regional minister for Economy, Competitiveness and Employment, visited the facilities alongside Mar Paños, director general for Industry, Competitiveness, Innovation and Business Digital Transformation. During the visit, Valle linked the project to the automotive industry’s capacity for innovation and adaptation.
Robotics, machine vision and artificial intelligence to manufacture complex components
The plant has added multi-robot welding cells, machine-vision systems, advanced robotics, non-contact dimensional inspection, and artificial intelligence and energy-efficiency applications. These technologies make it possible to manufacture highly complex structural components for new generations of electric vehicles.
The modernization has also increased the factory’s production capacity and flexibility to manufacture parts for both electric models and internal-combustion vehicles. The process has created around 20 highly skilled jobs, mainly in quality and maintenance.
With these additions, Linde + Wiemann’s workforce in Pedrola has reached 120 employees. The company is also working with the first Chinese manufacturer established in Aragón to launch a new NEV (New Energy Vehicle) mobility product.
TDI grants mobilize €26.3 million in industrial investment in Aragón in 2026
TDI grants have helped launch the Linde + Wiemann project. In 2026, this support program has benefited 69 companies and mobilized associated investment of €26.3 million, according to figures presented during the visit.
The new activity at the Pedrola plant combines industrial investment, automation, and specialized expertise in electric mobility. Its collaboration with Mercedes-Benz and development of new products expand the factory’s role within Aragón’s automotive industry.
