The «Journey with Letters» Program Reaches 50 Educational Centers in Aragon

The «Journey with Letters» program is an initiative managed by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Aragón to bring literature closer to students. It has been in operation for three years and takes over from the project initiated by teacher and writer Ana Alcolea, «Meeting with Letters,» and, further back in time, from «Invitation to Reading,» coordinated for more than two decades by professor and writer Ramón Acín.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, the program will involve the participation of 50 writers from Aragón or residing in Aragón who will visit 50 educational centers across the autonomous community, with 9 in Teruel, 3 in Huesca, and 38 in Zaragoza.

In addition to students in the second cycle of secondary education and high school, this edition will also feature the participation of Adult Education Centers, particularly well-received in rural areas of the Autonomous Community.

A variety of styles and genres, including narrative, graphic novels, poetry, and essays, will serve as the vehicle to take readers and writers on a journey, creating an alchemical symbiosis to strengthen the pleasure of reading and writing.

Notable writers such as Irene Vallejo, Sara Barquinero, Ignacio Martínez de Pisón, and other recognized Aragonesian authors will share their literary experience with students from various educational centers, enriching the program with their talent and creative perspectives.

Territorial Distribution

The program deploys 50 writers across centers in Aragón, with a special emphasis on areas such as Teruel, Huesca, and Zaragoza. This distribution reflects a commitment to regional outreach.

Innovation in Education

Adult Education Centers are being incorporated, expanding the traditional model. This strategy extends the program to rural areas, diversifying its educational impact.

Featured Writers

Participants include prestigious authors such as Irene Vallejo, Ignacio Martínez de Pisón, and Sergio del Molino. They represent various literary genres: narrative, poetry, graphic novels, and essays, fostering interest in reading.
