The SPIN Festival of Huesca returns in 2026 with a renewed proposal that promises to surprise attendees. From May 21 to 24, the city will transform into a cultural epicenter with a program that includes, for the first time, visual arts, and a strategic change of dates to avoid event saturation in the autumn.
News and Programming of the SPIN Festival
This year’s edition of the SPIN Festival brings with it significant changes. The decision to move the event from October to May aims to diversify the cultural offerings of Huesca throughout the year. Additionally, visual arts will be added to the program, expanding the range of artistic disciplines present.
The festival will take place in several venues around the city, notably the Plaza General Alsina, which will transform into a «festival within a festival» on May 23. There, the group La Azotea, known for its fusion of styles reminiscent of Pereza and Oasis, will be the main attraction of an intergenerational proposal.
Another major highlight will be the itinerant show «The Whale Street, a tale of a human epic.» This will take place on May 22, presented by the company Cie CPPP, offering a unique experience that combines live music, circus, and dance, featuring a giant whale as the main character that will roam the streets of Huesca.
Visual Identity and Funding
The official poster of the festival, created by the Huesca illustrator Karalang Fatty, reflects the cultural diversity of the event. Its design, inspired by the feline universe and contemporary fashion, incorporates elements of classic cartoons, anime, and video games, symbolizing freedom and authenticity.
The SPIN Festival has a total budget of 158,500 euros. The Huesca City Council is the main investor, supplemented by 30,000 euros from collaborating institutions. Additionally, the festival benefits from European funds through the projects EKO – Pirineos de Circo and Pyrenart II, co-financed by the ERDF through the Interreg-POCTEFA Program.
With a rich and varied program, the SPIN Festival establishes itself as a cultural reference in Huesca, offering a unique experience that connects generations and artistic disciplines in a vibrant and welcoming environment.
