Lorena Freire named a finalist in the 2025 Latir Hispano Awards with a record number of nominations
The second edition of the Latir Hispano Awards, organized by the Zaragoza City Council, has recorded a historic participation, solidifying its goal of recognizing the Hispanic-American talent that contributes to the progress of the city. Lorena Freire, manager of the specialty brewery Liqui2, has been selected as one of the finalists, highlighting her track record of integration and entrepreneurship in the Zaragoza hospitality sector.
This second edition has set a record with 142 nominations, reflecting the growing influence of the Hispanic-American community in Zaragoza. The winners will be announced on November 24 in the Reception Hall of the City Council. The ceremony will recognize the Latir Hispano of the Year award, three thematic awards, and a popular award chosen through voting in the city’s Latin radio stations.

Lorena Freire, born in Quito (Ecuador) at the foot of the Pichincha volcano, has been selected among 26 finalists. Her nomination stands out for her story of effort, integration, and entrepreneurship, values representative of the Zaragoza hospitality sector according to Horeca Zaragoza.
She grew up in a family restaurant where she began her connection with cooking and customer service. She emigrated to Zaragoza in 2007, working in various jobs before rediscovering her culinary vocation through a course from Inaem taught by Horeca Zaragoza. Together with her husband, Freire opened Liqui2 in 2009, a specialty brewery, tasting room, and shop that was born «with great enthusiasm and few resources.» With the support of the Delicias neighborhood, it has established itself as a reference establishment in the city.
