The IX edition of the microtheater festival in hotels of Zaragoza, «Lo tuyo es puro teatro,» will take place from April 20 to 24, highlighting Goya as a central figure. This event, organized by the Association of Hoteliers of Zaragoza and Province (Horeca Hoteles), has become an unmissable cultural appointment in the city.
Theater in Unconventional Spaces
The festival is characterized by its innovative approach of bringing theatrical creation to unconventional spaces within the hotel sector. Performances will be held at the Ibis Styles Zaragoza Centro, Hotel Don Jaime 54, Hotel Europa, and Hotel Vincci Zaragoza Zentro. Each play, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, will feature a small cast, and admission will be free, although prior reservation is required due to limited capacity.
Stage Proposals Inspired by Goya
The four selected works address contemporary themes through humor and satire, drawing inspiration from Goya. «No me toques el Goya» by Rosa Herrero explores the relationship between artist and audience, while «El sueño de la razón produce croquetas» by Iván Pérez contrasts tradition and modernity in a culinary setting. «TinderArte» by Bárbara Yáñez translates the artistic world into the language of dating apps, and «El documento» by Teresa Rubira presents a farce about the buying and selling of a home.
Audience Participation and Awards
The attending audience will play an active role by voting for their favorite work after the performances. Additionally, a professional jury will award prizes for best actor and actress, as well as a special jury prize for one of the works.
The festival aims to enrich the cultural and tourist offerings of Zaragoza, promoting a different type of tourism that combines quality and hospitality. With the support of the Zaragoza City Council, the Government of Aragon, and various businesses, this initiative reinforces the city’s commitment to culture and the arts.
