The Government of Aragón Tenders for the New IES in Monzón with €13.39 Million

The Government of Aragón has taken a significant step towards improving education in the eastern axis of the community by tendering the works for the second Secondary Education Institute (IES) in Monzón. With an investment of 13.39 million euros, this project not only aims to alleviate the overcrowding of the current IES Mor de Fuentes but also to enhance the educational offerings in the region.

Tendering and Deadlines for the New IES in Monzón

Companies interested in participating in the construction of the new institute have until February 27 at 2 PM to submit their bids through the Public Sector Procurement Platform. The project has an execution period of 24 months, representing a significant commitment to the educational development of Monzón.

Innovative Educational Design and Vocational Training

The new educational center, designed by Magén Arquitectos, will feature modern facilities that include 12 units of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), 4 units of Baccalaureate, and 3 vocational training programs in the digital and technological fields. These programs comprise a basic degree in Computing and Communications, a medium degree in Microcomputing and Networks, and a higher degree in Web Applications.

Additionally, the building will be equipped with a gymnasium, specialized classrooms, workshops, and multipurpose spaces, all tailored to meet the needs of Vocational Training, thus ensuring a quality and cutting-edge educational environment.

Occupancy Plan and Expected Benefits

Although the construction period is 24 months, a partial occupancy is anticipated after 18 months in the Compulsory Secondary Education section. This schedule will allow students to start benefiting from the new facilities before the overall project is fully completed.

The establishment of this new institute in Monzón is a direct response to the educational needs of the region, providing not only relief to the current overcrowding but also an expansion of the training offerings that align with the demands of today’s labor market, especially in technological sectors.
