Arquimea and EM&E Integrate Q-Slam 40 into Guardian 30

Spanish companies Arquimea and EM&E have unveiled in Toledo the integration of the Q-Slam 40 loitering aerial system into the Guardian 30 remote weapon station. The demonstration was held during the 2E+I Forum, organized by the Spanish Army, where both companies showcased the tests conducted using this configuration.

The development combines Arquimea’s Q-Slam 40 with EM&E’s Guardian 30 for installation on ground platforms. According to the companies, integration testing has been successfully completed, and the solution is designed for surveillance, reconnaissance, target acquisition, precision-strike missions and counter-unmanned aerial system operations.

The Q-Slam 40 features autonomous navigation, electro-optical sensors and artificial-intelligence capabilities designed to locate and track targets. The Guardian 30, meanwhile, is a two-axis stabilized remote weapon station designed for armored vehicles; it includes two electro-optical systems for both daytime and nighttime operations.

Arquimea and EM&E say the integration could extend the operational reach of ground units against targets at greater distances or beyond direct line of sight. Elena Delgado, EM&E’s director of national business development, also said the project seeks to establish a domestically manufactured ground-based system capable of taking part, among other tasks, in counter-drone missions.
