The SAMCA Group will develop a campus with three data centers in Luceni (Zaragoza), along with the renovation of wind farms in nearby municipalities, through an investment of 2.6 billion euros.
Project Components:
The project involves the construction of three data centers between 2026 and 2028. It also includes the renovation of wind farms in Luceni, Pedrola, Plasencia de Jalón, and Rueda de Jalón, which will provide sustainable energy to supply these technological infrastructures.
Execution Phases until 2030
The implementation of the project will be divided into three phases. The first phase involves the construction of the data centers between 2026 and 2028, followed by the expansion of the wind farms to ensure a sustainable energy supply. The final phase will commence in 2030, when the centers begin to operate effectively.
The Executive Vice President of the SAMCA Group, Guillermo Luengo, stated that this project reflects the company’s historical commitment to Aragón and its renewable energy-based model. Meanwhile, the President of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, emphasized the importance of having a local company as a driver of investments in the community, highlighting the need to not limit these types of initiatives in the region.
Furthermore, the project will start with an initial capacity of 131 MW, with the possibility of expanding to 300 MW during subsequent phases, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable energy development and job creation in the future.
