Two Zaragoza Institutions Receive Award for Prevention of Eating Disorders
The Cristo Rey School and the Zaragoza Municipal Professional Dance Conservatory were recognized for their initiatives in promoting mental health and preventing eating disorders. The award was presented on November 27, 2025, at an event organized by the Arbada Association.
The General Director of Consumer and User Protection of the Government of Aragón, Inma de Francisco, awarded the Cristo Rey School the «Actitud arriba autoestima» seal granted by the Arbada Association. The event also included the General Director of Mental Health, Manuel Corbera, the Managing Director of the Aragonese Institute of Social Services, Ángel Val, and the president of Arbada, Edurne Larrarte.
The awarded project, titled «For Your Mental Health, For Our Mental Health,» was developed by 3rd and 4th-year ESO students in collaboration with professionals from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit of the Parque Goya Health Center, Amparo Poch, and the Royo Villanova Hospital. According to Inma de Francisco, the recognition highlights that «asking for help is an act of bravery, and taking care of oneself is the foundation for growth.»
The Zaragoza Municipal Professional Dance Conservatory was distinguished for its involvement in training teachers, families, and students in promoting mental health and preventing eating disorders. During the event, a group of students from the conservatory performed.
Round Table on Eating Disorders
The event included a round table titled «Eating Disorders: Health, Science, and Communication in Times of Infoxication,» featuring Encarna Samitier (President of «20 Minutos»), Alberto Jimenez Schumacher (researcher), and Raquel García Fuentes (President of the Official College of Pharmacists of Zaragoza).
