Sergio Muro opens his exhibition «Hedonistic Existence» in Zaragoza, where more than 50 works bear witness to a decade of creations focused on hedonism. Organized by the Caja Rural de Aragón Foundation, this exhibition, available from April 24 to June 13, offers a colorful and vital exploration of this concept.
Exploration of hedonism through art
The exhibition, located in the hall at C/Cuatro de Agosto nº4, is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Here, Muro presents a collection of 40 acrylic canvases, two murals, and 25 drawings that reflect hedonism as a philosophy of life. The artist proposes this approach as a way to «enjoy every moment,» an attitude that holds particular relevance in times of global uncertainty.
At 50 years old, Sergio Muro is not only a reference in plastic arts but also in performance art, with more than 150 performances in 12 different cities around the world.
He has recently been appointed cultural manager for Burgos 2031, participated in events such as ARCO Madrid, and published a book titled «Running.»
Recognized voices in the cultural sphere have praised Muro’s work. María Horno, an art historian, highlights his «direct and narrative style that engages the viewer.» From another perspective, the Murcia-based artist Dómix Garrido emphasizes the «chromatic impact» that monopolizes the audience’s attention. Meanwhile, cultural manager Ramón Albero discusses the conceptual ambiguity present in the figures represented in Muro’s canvases.
The final reflection of the exhibition is an invitation from Muro himself to «give a smile as an act of everyday beauty,» quoting Tolstoy to underscore a message of optimism and hope in the face of present challenges.
