The Teruel Chamber of Commerce has taken a significant step in revitalizing rural municipalities by organizing a practical course on traditional cooking. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Teruel School of Hospitality and Tourism, aims to revitalize the local economy through gastronomy.
Training in Traditional Cooking for Rural Managers
The course, held on May 11, 2026 at the facilities of the Teruel School of Hospitality and Tourism, brought together 12 entrepreneurs from various locations in the province, such as Ladruñan, Bea, and Vinaceite. The participants, which included managers of Rural Multiservices and hospitality professionals, benefited from training that combined practical content and culinary demonstrations.
The primary objective of this initiative is to recover and value traditional cuisine, providing practical tools to enhance and diversify the gastronomic offerings of rural businesses. The training also focused on utilizing local products, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of these businesses and promote the consumption of regional products.
A Boost for the Local Economy
The proposal for this course emerged from the needs expressed by managers of Rural Multiservices during the annual Chamber of Commerce Forum. This event not only provided practical knowledge but also served as a meeting point for the exchange of experiences and ideas among managers from different locations, thereby enriching the rural business fabric.
Funding from the Provincial Council of Teruel has been crucial to carry out this training, which seeks to maintain economic and social activity in small municipalities, contributing to their long-term sustainability.
Next Steps and Opportunities
As part of future actions, attendees of the course will have the opportunity to participate in a culinary competition. This event will allow them to apply the recipes and proposals developed during the training, thus fostering innovation and creativity in their businesses.
