Valentia presents a national reference center in research and innovation for inclusion in Monzón
The mayor of Monzón, Isaac Claver, and the manager of the Valentia Foundation, Sara Comenge, presented on Monday, November 10, a housing and training space for innovation in support for people with disabilities. The project, which has already begun construction in the El Molino neighborhood, will position the city as a national leader in applied research for inclusion.
The center will be a pioneer in Spain by integrating applied research, training, and housing in the same space. It will feature adapted housing for 15 individuals with autism spectrum disorder, training spaces, and research classrooms, designed as an environment where residents will live and learn while work teams develop and implement innovations.
The total investment amounts to approximately three million euros, with an execution period of 15 months. The construction is being managed by the company Hinaco.
Center’s Work Axes
The project is organized around three main lines:
Inclusion and quality of life, focusing on the physical and emotional well-being of individuals.
Training and employment, aimed at offering innovative methodologies that enhance job preparation and personal autonomy.
Applied technologies for support, designed to improve the quality of professional work, reduce injuries, and foster safer and more sustainable environments.
Purpose and Knowledge Transfer
Valentia emphasizes that the goal is not only to conduct research but also to transfer that knowledge into daily practice, generating a direct impact on individuals and the community. The center is conceived as a factory of human, social, and economic value that will help dignify work in the disability sector.
In addition to its social dimension, the project will provide an economic boost for Monzón and the province of Huesca, generating approximately 15 direct and indirect jobs, attracting talent, and promoting collaborations with universities, technological centers, and industry companies.
The project has the support of the Monzón City Council, the Provincial Council of Huesca (DPH), and the Government of Aragón (DGA). With this initiative, Monzón will reinforce its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the continuous improvement of the quality of life for people with disabilities, creating a replicable model of social and technological innovation.
