The Digital Professional Training Campus of Zaragoza hosted the national final of the AWS JAM powered by NTT DATA on May 29, 2025, with 150 vocational training students from six autonomous communities competing in cloud challenge resolutions.
The Minister of Education, Tomasa Hernández, inaugurated the event, highlighting Aragón’s commitment to becoming a national technology hub and the implementation of 27 new STEAM programs for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Director General of Vocational Training, Luis Mallada, closed the event by inviting participants to repeat the experience in 2026.
NTT DATA awarded the first prize to IES San Jaume II el Just (Valencia). The second prize was given by STEMDO to the SkyNet Builder team from IES Álvaro Falomir (Castellón), while Amazon In Communities recognized the Lambda team from Salesianos (Zaragoza) with the third place. Additionally, the company Integra raffled off two AWS certifications among the participants.
The AWS representative in Spain, Iñaki Bilbao, emphasized the investment in cloud training to capitalize on job opportunities generated by the Aragonese technology hub. The program aims to train 500,000 students in digital skills by 2027. The Zaragoza center promotes specialization courses in Python, cloud services, and data center management, developed with AWS, in addition to TEC programs (Technology, Employability, Competences) with active teaching methodologies and intensive dual training.
Public-private collaboration has been critical, as noted by María Jesús Cáncer (NTT DATA Zaragoza), who highlighted the company’s mentoring role over three months, combining technical sessions with support during the competition to enhance students’ capabilities.
