Fashion, gastronomy and solidarity in Zaragoza’s historic district

Eva Valle, regional minister for Economy, Competitiveness and Employment, and Mar Paños, director general for Industry, Competitiveness, Innovation and Business Digital Transformation, took part Wednesday in the route organized as part of Aragón Fashion Week. The initiative introduces the public to the creative and business work linked to fashion through a tour of the Aragonese capital’s old town.

The event brought together designers, hospitality professionals and representatives of the textile sector. Participating labels showcased their creations at five hospitality venues, which also offered a solidarity tapa to raise funds for Apsatur.

The participating professionals included Paula López, creator of Coco Lebrel; Irene Bielsa, Teresa Terrén, Beatriz Centelles and Susana Aperte. The initiative therefore combines the promotion of local talent with a social cause and the commercial and gastronomic activity of the historic center.

Aragon’s textile sector includes nearly 1,000 companies and supports 10,000 jobs

Aragon’s textile and apparel sector comprises nearly 1,000 companies and generates about 3,500 direct industrial jobs. That figure rises to 10,000 jobs when activities associated with the industry are included.

Aragon’s value chain spans design and garment manufacturing through labeling, logistics, distribution and e-commerce. This structure enables the sector to cover the different stages of activity related to fashion and apparel.

During the route, Eva Valle stressed that fashion extends beyond creativity and runways because of its impact on employment, wealth creation and economic opportunity. In this context, Aragón Fashion Week serves as a showcase for an industry that combines creative capacity, entrepreneurship and industrial activity.
